Karen

Karen is 46 years old. She leads the design and delivery of our workshops. She also provides mentoring on a one to one basis at dream on. She is passionate about helping people in their thinking. She loves supporting them in achieving their personal and professional goals.
Karen lives in Surrey. She is an experienced horserider and regularly competes in dressage events.

A qualified coach, Karen has always been interested in people and their development. She left university with a degree in science. She didn’t want to pursue this so she chose to work in a business consultancy environment. She thought that people and team dynamics can deliver huge, positive results to organisations. She was in strong demand by recruiters and so she decided to join one of the top four consultancy firms. In a short period of time she was shaping and designing their largest client projects.

Her personal style meant people wanted to achieve more. She found clients were starting to ask her to coach them. Working one to one they experienced a big change. Her skills and guidance helped people achieve things they never thought possible.  Karen took a step back, she recognised that her career was moving more and more towards the people and human development side. She wanted to learn more so she decided to leave her job and go back to study.

She studied psychology and psychotherapy and completed her coaching training.

From here she trained in group dynamics and the development of good leaders. All of this was achieved before 30.

Since qualifying Karen has spent fifteen years mentoring corporate and personal clients.

Karen is often asked – “what is it you do exactly” and her response often leads to “what can you do for me?”

Karen’s ability to move a person’s thinking process on in a supportive and independent way is very special. As one client commented “Karen helps me think straight against all the odds”. Her experience means she can help work through confusion and work out what to do.
Karen and Bridget have worked together over the last four years. She helped Bridget make sense of things. So, when Bridget told her about dream on it was only natural they would work together. She understands how important it is to support women and the positive impact this can have on them and others.

Today she combines her time at dream on working with companies in the fields of personal development and leadership. She is a key part of dream on and is currently considering whether to join the rest of the team on race for life. In the meantime she can often be found at a salsa class, reading several development books at once or on the saddle of a horse.
